After a year-long search, SLB has finally settled for an accomplished Indonesian Coach, Jeffer Rosobin who arrived in the island over the weekend for an introductory visit after which he is expected to start work from January 2021.
Coach Rosobin will be tasked with preparing the National Team for the Commonwealth Games which is the immediate goal after which the long-term preparation will begin.
Apart from these main objectives, Rosobin will play the role of Director of Coaching, overlooking the development of National Coaches, Regional Training Pools, the Junior Squad plus the long-awaited Badminton School which SLB plans to introduce soon. So, it will be a busy schedule and an unenviable task as SLB seeks to fast-track its long-awaited development goals.
As a top ranked player, Jeffer Rosobin, has several accomplishments to boast about with a World Ranking of # 10 in 1996.

Following his playing career, Rosobin has gathered a renowned coaching experience:
· Private coaching for both foreign and local players in Indonesia (from 2002)
· Singapore National Coach for Men’s Singles for 5 years (2007-2011)
· 18 years coaching at with all levels from beginner to national teams
· Received National High Level Coaching Certificate from Indonesia BA.
· Received National Certificate of Singapore Badminton Association.
· Indonesia Badminton National Coach for 4 years (2017-2020)

Since then, he runs his own Academy in Jakarta from 2012 until now. There are many players from other countries come to train with him, from Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Philippines, Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, France, Slovakia, Belgium, Canada, Finland and Sri Lanka.
During his time as a National Coach of Indonesia in charge of Women’s Singles, he succeeded in bringing Gregoria Mariska Tunjung to win the World Junior Championship on 2017. For Men’s Singles, he succeeded in winning the World Junior Championship Team event; the first win in the team category of Indonesia history.
